Happy Easter, Lazy Turtles!

Hi, Lazy Turtles. Happy Easter! This is such a beautiful time of year here in Naples, and a great time to visit! Welcome to all our visitors — I hope this is a nice break from the cold. In case you’re wondering what to do while you’re down here, here are some of my favorite things to do with my family.

My favorite thing to do in Naples, of course, is to go to the beach. Around this time of year, the water is very warm. My family loves Seagate Beach and Delnor Wiggins Park. Another option is Lowdermilk Beach — I love the playground, volleyball courts, and most importantly, concession stand! I also love to head out for a boat ride and go fishing. At Naples Marina, you can rent boats, fishing rods, and kayaks, and buy bait. For a shopping day head to Waterside shops. In addition to stores, there is also an ice cream shop, Hägen Daz. I recommend the Dulce De Leche.

Speaking of food, after all that fun in the sun, you must be hungry — and of course, you parents probably don’t want to cook every night. Buzz’s Lighthouse serves fantastic fish and outstanding onion rings in a nice casual atmosphere! My family and I have been here many times in swimsuit cover-ups and none of the extremely friendly staff said anything apart from a pleasant “Hi! How are you?” Turtle Club is on the beach directly across the street, but fancier. Island Gypsy also has an incredible menu. For everyone, order grouper. Thank me later! For another treat (ok, ok, I love ice cream), head to Royal Scoop in Naples or, if you are heading to Marco Island, Sweet Annie’s.

There are many other fun things to do in Naples. The Naples Zoo has many animals including alligators, lions, panthers, monkeys, lemurs, tigers, and my favorite, turtles. Fun fact: the biggest alligator is Red, and the littlest one is Bubbles. The only way to see the primates up close is to go on the Monkey Boat! This tours around the islands on which the stars roam. Be glad King Julian of the Lemurs is a far way from the Fossa enclosure! Sun and Fun Lagoon is a huge waterpark that is well-known for its big slides.

Overall, I hope you have a great vacation here. Don’t forget to check out some Lazy Turtle gear as souvenirs — you can remember your fantastic vacation, and feel good knowing your purchase helped save sea turtles.
